Q: Where can I get help if I have a problem with the equipment in the classrooms?
A: Arlington—Call the Classroom Support Hotline at (703) 993-8226 (3-8226 from a classroom phone or other campus phone).

Fairfax--Call the Classroom Support Hotline at (703) 993-3456 (3-3456 from the classroom phone or other campus phone).

Q: What are the locations/hours of operation of the Classroom Support offices?

Q: Can I use my laptop to teach in the classrooms?
A: Yes. In a general purpose and Smart Classroom, the internet jack is located at the front center of the classroom and is marked with a red tag. In Electronic, Electronic Plus and Computer Classrooms, each instructor's console has a connection for laptops. These connections also work for Macintosh laptops, however, many Macintosh computers require an adaptor to connect to our systems. Please make sure to bring the adaptors that came with your Mac.
   
Q: Is there wireless connectivity in the classrooms?
A: See http://wireless.gmu.edu/coverage.html for the list of spaces where wireless coverage exists at all campuses.
   
Q: I am a faculty member, how do I get access to the electronic classrooms?
A: Arlington--Electronic Classrooms are on a timed lock that automatically opens at 7am and locks at 11pm. Videoconferencing classrooms will be opened 15 minutes before class starts by the support staff. If there is a problem, please call the Classroom Support Office at 3-8226

Fairfax-- All classrooms will be open during the instructional period. Computer Classrooms are programmed to open 15 minutes before the start of each class, and remain open through the class period.

Prince William--Electronic Classrooms are locked and are scheduled to open 15 minutes prior to the start of a scheduled class and lock at the end of the class. If there is a problem, please call the Classroom Support Office at (703) 993-8499, and we will contact security.

Q: How can I get help to use the equipment in the classrooms?
A: Arlington--To arrange for training in advance for your class, please call Al Underwood at (703) 993-9447. The Classroom Support Hotline at (703) 993-8226 (3-8226 from the classroom phone or other campus phone) is available to help with last minute technical issues that may arise in a classroom.

Fairfax--To arrange for training in advance for your class, please call Susan Campbell at (703) 993-3424. The Classroom Support Hotline at (703) 993-3456 (3-3456 from the classroom phone or other campus phone) is available to help with last minute technical issues that may arise in a classroom.

Prince William--To arrange for training in advance for your class, please call Rick Reo at (703) 993-8536. The Classroom Support Hotline at (703) 993-8499 (3-8499 from the classroom phone or other campus phone) is available to help with last minute technical issues that may arise in a classroom.
   
Q: How much is the charge for printing in the classrooms?
A: Currently, the charge is 8 cents per page. For more information you may contact Print Services at (703) 993-2550.
   
Q: Can you fix the temperature in the classrooms if it is too hot or cold?
A: Classroom Support offices have no control over climate of the classrooms.

Q: Who provides the dry erase markers and erasers?
A: Arlington--Individual departments are responsible for providing whiteboard markers for their instructors.

Fairfax-- Individual departments are responsible for providing whiteboard markers for their instructors.

Prince William --The Administration Office, Occoquan room 217, provides markers and erasers for classroom use only. The Classroom Support Office in Occoquan room 228 has some spare markers for classes after Administration office hours.
